A Vision for the New Year
Humans are very visual creatures, and this is infinitely more true when those humans are little and may not yet be able to read. As the new year approaches and talk of resolutions are floating...
Hi friends!
We’re Meghan and Alex, just some regular parents living in Omaha, Nebraska, trying to do the best we can for our four sweet daughters. And we’re the founders of Wonder Bunch Media. We’re so glad you’re here with us!
In a world gone high-tech, avoiding screens isn’t a realistic option for children or their parents. Avoiding sensory overload and empty stimulation, however, is still an achievable goal! As the parents of four incredible little brains, we found ourselves disappointed with the flashing, noisy, and needlessly repetitive apps being made available to our girls. We searched for better choices for our children and found that even skill games meant to help them learn were confusing, and not based on appropriate cognitive building blocks.
We had a few favorite apps, but found ourselves frustrated by the inappropriate advertising targeting children. It wasn’t long before we realized that we had the perfect network to solve this problem ourselves! Not only did we owe it to our children to offer them a better app, we owed them the example that if something isn’t right in the world, we find a way to change it. And before we knew it, Wonder Bunch Media was born!
In addition to being parents and creating the Wonder Bunch world, Meghan is an attorney by trade and yoga instructor by love and Alex is a full-time project manager. Both us bring unique talents to our Wonder Bunch team that compliment each other well and we know how blessed we are to work together on a project that we both feel so strongly about. Wonder Bunch wasn’t born of an abundance of time, but an abundance of love for learning and for seeing children empowered to explore!
We’ve developed our apps with the help of early childhood educators, scientists, musicians, artists, and side by side with parents just like you. We knew we weren’t the only ones with concerns like ours, and gathering input from other parents gave us a lot of perspective. We used this input to develop apps that not only help educate children as they play, but are beautiful to experience and continue to encourage curiosity after the device is put away.
We are so grateful for our Wonder Bunch family and for the opportunity to make the digital world a little safer, kinder, and more helpful to families. We can’t wait to show you everything we’ve been working on – stay tuned for what’s coming next!
Thank you for joining the Bunch!
xoxo
